Is there any difference if a client is living interstate/intrastate?
A: Yes, in that case, client can take consultation on phone calls or video calls.

To claim a Medicare rebate for a Telehealth consultation, a patient must have seen the doctor face to face with-in the previous 12 months.
Medicare is changing the criteria for Telehealth frequently, as such the item number and Medicare rebate will change however the out of pocket gap will be:

The quickest and easiest way to claim is at the Doctor’s Surgery, straight after you pay. This is done electronically, either instantly onto your EFTPOS card using a cheque or savings account, or via Medicare Online.
If using Medicare Online and you have registered your bank details with Medicare, the rebate will be deposited back into your bank account, usually within ten business days.
If you have not registered your bank details with Medicare, they will send you a letter explaining you have a claim and need to register with them.

For certain services, we will charge Medicare under your name, and in these cases a cheque will be sent to you but is addressed to your GP. You will need to forward this cheque to our Practice at your earliest convenience.
Do you charge fees in case a client doesn't show up?
A.You need to tell your doctor beforehand if you can’t make it to your appointment.This gives them time to give the slot to someone else. If you can’t make it, please tell them at least 24 hours before.
If you don’t, you might have to pay a fee. This fee can’t be paid back by Medicare.
